Mikey turns 1!

My baby isn't a baby any more! Michael turned 1 on April 25, 2009. We had a very small BBQ with family to celebrate the occasion. I made him a blue cake shaped like a peanut because that is his nickname. Check out the pictures of him devouring his cake. He was very dainty with it at first, but quickly went to town on that sucker! He ate so much, he was throwing up blue! Happy Birthday my sweet, happy, funny, and cuddly little man! Mama loves you!

Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a great Easter. We had fun at about a million egg hunts, coloring eggs, meeting the Easter Bunny himself, eating a ton of candy, going to church, and enjoying the first ham I ever made (turned out really well!) Spending time with my family and eating good food equals a good holiday to me! :)

Bird Flu and Lice

Bird Flu and Lice. That is what I felt like I had when we left Bonnie Springs today. What a fun and disgustingly dirty place. Jolee loved petting the animals. She named the goats Goaty Goat and Ollie. Taylor was unsure, similar to her mommy. She did not like it when a deer came up and bit the hood of her sweatshirt. Michael loved sitting on the saddle. My little cowboy. I actually appreciated the peacocks, even though they extremely freaked me out. What a good Good Friday!

Glasses

So Jolee and Taylor had an appointment with a Pediatric Optometrist yesterday. Jolee's preschool teacher told me that she has noticed Jolee squinting in class. Rob and I have noticed Taylor squinting while watching t.v. So I took them both in and found out that both of my girls are near-sighted. Jolee needs a full blown prescription and will wear glasses all the time! He said Taylor will most likely need glasses once she starts elementary schools. My dang eyes! Why did I have to pass that down? Jolee is really excited though! We picked out some trendy rectangle frames that are hot pink. She was so upset that we had to leave the office without her glasses. She was sitting in her booster seat, arms crossed, cranky look on her face, and occasionally shouting, "UGGHHH....Glasses." Not upset because she is getting them, rather that she didn't have them right that minute. She will have them next week and I'll put up a picture of my very scholarly 4-year-old!

Smiles

I just got this pic of the kids on the love sack! How happy do they look?

Love Sack at the Love Shack

So we got a love sack! Rob and I thought, "Hey it is tan microfiber, the same as our couches, it will look good." So we got it in this weekend and the kids LOVED it! I loved thinking about Monday Night Movie Night with the whole family curled up on that thing. Well this morning when I came down stairs and saw what I thought was a giant boulder in my living room, needless to say I was alarmed. I can't help but think that it looks like a giant tumor in my living room. I am loving the love sack, but getting annoyed with it's lack of aesthetic appeal. What do you think? And how tiny and serious does my little Mikey look burried in it?

Let the Easter Egg Hunts Begin!

We went to our first Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday morning. We go to so many every year that by the time we have our own hunt, the novelty has worn off. Actually this was Jolee's second hunt of the year, she had one at preschool last Thursday. So here are the kids before we took off for the Sierra Madre Egg Hunt. And there is also one of Tay nervously and slowing searching for eggs. Next Saturday we have got Mountain's Edge (hopefully the girls won't get tackled again this year!) Hope you enjoy your own egg hunt!

"There is something wrong with Michael!"

Those are the words that wake me up Sunday morning. I was enjoying my Sunday morning sleep in, when Rob busted in the room holding Mikey and looking panic stricken. I sit up...

Me: What's going on?
Rob: There is something wrong with Michael!
Me: What's wrong with him?
Rob: His poop is weird.
Me: What did his poop look like?
Rob: He pooped fluff!
Me: What? Let me see.

I look in Michael's diaper to discover that the diaper exploded and those little silicon gel things are every where. I laugh and tell my sweet hubby that there is nothing to worry about. The diaper just go too full. But it made me wonder? This is our third child and Rob just discovered that diaper explode on occasion. I think he needs more diaper duty!
