"And in the morning, I'm making waffles"

Does anyone recognize that quote? It's from Shrek, said by Donkey. My mom loved that quote. Anyway....just having a lazy morning. Jolee has a cough and a runny nose, so she stayed home from preschool. So the girls and watching Christmas movies and coloring in their "Charlie and Brown" (Charlie Brown) coloring books. I decided to make my new favorite, oatmeal waffles for breakfast, a million thanks to my good friend Sesily for sharing that recipe. Anway, I wanted to see if Mikey would like him so waffles, and boy oh boy, did he. I had to take it away from him because he was inhaling it. I thought he would choke. Anyway...moral of the story, gotta love the occasion lazy day in.

White Christmas

It snowed here in Vegas yesterday!!!!! It was so fun! It snowed all day long, but it wasn't cold enough for it to stick over on our side of town. But we still loved running around in the snow flakes and then rushing in to have some hot chocolate and banana bread. What's a snowy day without something in the oven? Mikey enjoyed the snow from the comfort and warmth of his jumperoo. It will be fun when that little guy can hold his own with his big sisters. A couple of years ago when it snowed in Vegas, Jay Leno said, "So I guess it is the end of the world. It snowed in Las Vegas. Hell froze over!" Haha! :)

Breakfast with Santa and cookies with Grammy

Saturday was a fun day for the kids. We had our annual ward breakfast with Santa. It was so fun. The kids loved seeing Santa, although I overheard Jolee saying to a friend, "I have already seen Santa 6 times." I don't know if it has been quite that many times yet, but close. Taylor was still excited and told him that she wanted, "Super Beauty." No it is not a new action hero, that is just Taylor's way of saying Sleeping Beauty. Jolee spoke for Micheal, telling Santa that we wanted blocks. After the breakfast, we headed to Grammy's (Rob's mom) house to make sugar cookies. The girls had a blast. And Michael loved getting sneaks of frosting from his Auntie Beth, I still don't know how I feel about that. Anyway what a fun Saturday. Oh and yes, they have their Candy Cane Cutie shirts on again. I got to get my money's worth! :)

What do gay horses eat?

Sorry if the title offended anyone...But the answer is HHAAAAYYYY!! That is exactly what we did last Tuesday. We went on a hay ride on the Vegas strip, seriouslly! It was a lot of fun with the extremely loud Christmas carols blasting out the 2 amps! It was crazy! The only thing we could have lived without is all the naked women! It is getting so raunchy down there! Jolee said, "These girls need to learn to cover up their tutties!" The wisdom of a 4 year old. Michael was confused the whole time and our little Tay slept through the whole thing. What a fun time.

Magical Forest

Jolee's preschool had a field trip to the Magical Forest this morning. It was a great time, but it started off a little rocky. We were pulling into Opportunity Village and there is this dad just going to town peeing on the wall! He was there with a play group and had the audacity to pee on the wall, before he got his kids out of their car seats. I mean, peeing on something as wholesome as Opportunity Village?? That got me fired up! I rolled down my window and said, "Hey...keep your junk in your pants. I have kids in my car and I am going to call the cops." Well that part was just a bluff, but come on guy, have some class!! Anyway..once I vented about that to a couple other field tripping moms, I felt better and was able to enjoy the Magical Forest. The kids loved going on the train and merry go round. Michael is just getting over a cold, so he was strapped in his stroller with a blanket. Explaining the reason why he is M.I.A. in these pictures. I am so happy Christmas is almost here! :)

Big Boy!

My little guy Mikey is hardly so little anymore. Michael is figuring out the logistics of crawling, and he somehow pulls his arm out of his pajamas in the process. And then last night, he said, "MaMa." It was the cutest thing ever! I beat Rob with 2 out of3 kids saying Mama, before Dada. Taylor is a true daddy's girl, she was the only one that said Dada. In the middle of the night, Mikey woke up and said "MaMa." It melted my heart! I love having a Mama's boy!

Black Friday

Yes! Rob and I braved the crowds once again this year to shop on Black Friday. We got home from California late and finally crawled into bed at 11:00 pm. It felt like we only took a long nap, because the alarm went off at 3:00 am. Our babysitter was over at our house at 3:30 am, and we were out the door in time to make it to Kohl's before they opened at 4:00 am. I got so many good deals, like toys 50% off and a 28 inch flat screen LCD tv for our master bedroom for $299, we also got guitar hero for our new wii for $50. I think that is well worth getting out of bed early for. Rob and I finished up our Christmas shopping and I was even interviewed on the news. I probably should have said no, considering I didn't sleep the night before, had a baseball hat and no make up on. But its all part of the fun. Black Friday officially brings in the Christmas season. Merry Christmas!

Christmas card picture

I am thinking that this is the picture I will use for Christmas cards this year. Once again, Shawna took a pretty good picture. This is out in front on my aunt and uncle's house in Orange County on Thanksgiving day. We sneaked out while dinner was being prepared. We had a great day and a wonderful meal. I got to spend time with my cousins, their spouses, and children (which I learned are called my "first cousin, once removed"). We made Christmas ornaments and ate until we were stuffed. I found out that I have a lot in common with my cousin Brad's wife Nadia. We both have an infatuation with Bear Grylls, celebrity gossip, and ballet flats. Thanks for the shoes, by the way! :) The only thing that wasn't too fun was driving back to Vegas that night, but we had to be home for our Black Friday deals.

Surprise...We are going to Disneyland!

So we were invited to Thanksgiving down at my aunt and uncle's home in Mission Veijo, CA this year. We decided that since we were down there, we would make a trip over to Disneyland. We were excited to see my mom's marker in front of the park (see picture). We were also excited to ambush the kids with Disneyland. We woke up really early on Wednesday morning and drove straight there. We told the girls we were just going to Papa Jim's (my uncle Jim) house for Thanksgiving. We didn't tell the girls where we were until Jolee saw the Materhorn out her window. She said, "What's that?" I pratically screamed, "It's Disneyland and we are going there right now!!!" The girls started screaming, it was so cute. Disneyland was fun, but stupid crowded. I only gotta to go on 5 rides. I saw my good friend Taylor Kowalis there as well as some other families from our ward. Mikey even had a good time, when we met Mickey Mouse, he tried to chew on Mickey Mouse's nose, gotta love teething children.

Lovin' us some Edward Cullen!

So I saw Twilight on Friday night and was pleasantly surprised. I thought there was some cheesey moments, but for the most part it was good. We could have dealt without the 13 year old girls screaming when Edward and Bella kissed, but what can you do? The girls that went to the movie were (left to right) Melissa, Kelly, Brandy, Me, Aimee, Laura and Taylor. We also had a couple friends meet us at the theater, where we cut in line with them and were threatened to by a "kick" ("let's just kick them") from some tweens! Haha! Good times! Oh and yes, by the way, that is my Christmas tree in the background! :)

Christmas in November

Yes!! My house is ready to go! I put my tree and decorations up yesterday and my village and garland today. That darn Polar Express got my amped for Christmas a few weeks to prematurely. Oh well! I love Christmas, why not make it last a little bit longer. Jolee was so funny one the way home from the Polar Express in Arizona, she said, "So is Christmas done now?" You don't even know what you are in for little girl! Happy Early Merry Christmas from the Hutch House.

Days after Halloween...

Yes, that's right, days after Halloween we headed down to Williams, AZ to ride the Polar Express. You remember the children's book where the kid goes to the North Pole. Yeah, there is a real one and it fantastic! It was so much fun and instantly put me into the holiday spirit. It was freezy down there (17 degrees at night) and Christmas decorations galore. We got aboard the Polar Express on Saturday night in all our pajamed glory, I told Rob they wouldn't let him on if he wasn't full clad. Anyway they give you hot chocolate and cookies and read the story while you ride to the North Pole. You look at your window and see Santa on his sleigh at the "North Pole." He gets on and gave all the kids a silver bell, once again from the book. The girls loved. Jolee was screaming like Santa was Zac Efron and Taylor just looked up and said, "Hi Ho Ho!" Mikey didn't know what was going on but was happy to be in comfy jammies. I hope to make the Polar Express a family tradition. It was so much fun.

Happy Halloween

OK! I know I am a day late and a buck short, but its better now than never. I have been slacking with the blogging, sorry. Anyway...Happy Halloween! We had a great Halloween this year. Jolee broke the princess mold and was a kitty cat, Taylor was "Snow Wipe" (you get the idea) and my little peanut Mikey was a pumpkin. It was so fun. Taylor finally understood the concept of trick or treating and had a blast. I dressed up as a witch for our ward's trunk or treat. I had little Mikey in the baby bjorn and he was a "Son of a Witch". Definitely mixed reactions from that, but I thought it was funny. My girls weren't huge fans of mommy in a wig. When I came downstairs, Taylor said, "What is your name? Are you a Ah Ha Ha Ha? (evil laugh)" Gotta love kids. Anyway...Happy Belated Halloween!

The Hutchinsons are Famous

While my girls were watching a movie yesterday, I was enjoying my guilty pleasure (US Weekly). Taylor was sitting next to me and looked at the picture of Travis Barker and said, "Its Daddy." Jolee then looked over and said, "Yeah, he has statues (tattoos) like Daddy too!" I turned the page to discover Rob and I walking on the beach, or so Taylor thought. I guess I can kind of see it too. A couple more pages into the mag, Shawna (Kate Hudson) was discovered wearing a wedding dress. It was so funny. It made my day!

Lab Rat

I received a call from the UNLV Department of Psychology asking about my 5 month old. They are conducting research into what makes a face familiar to a baby. I had received calls from them about my other girls and always had something else going on. But since Michael is my last baby, I thought...why not. It was really interesting. I took Michael into a dark room with two T.V. screens. They showed many different faces, all different ethnicticities and ages. They taped his reactions, he would get so excited at the little boy face. When we left Michael got a shirt that says, "I graduated from the UNLV Baby Lab." It was an interesting experience.

Bustin out the Halloween Bin

So after soccer practice, we came home and got out all of my Halloween decorations. Taking down the old Halloween bin, or bins should I say. I am not very good at limiting my amount of seasonal decorations. Anyway...it officially Autumn, so I thought why not. I found some wigs from my former Halloween costumes (Paris Hilton and Velma from Scooby Do) and gave them to my little Taylor. She then turned them into Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. She wore that

darn black one all afternoon. I am so excited that it is almost Halloween, that means Christmas is just around the corner!

My Little Mia Hamm

So Jolee had her first soccer practice on Friday. It took a little convincing to get her to actually keep her shin guards on. She was crying and saying that she couldn't walk. She seriously looked like Forrest Gump with the leg braces on at first. She got the hang of it quickly and seeing her friends in the same get up helped a lot. Her practices are down at our lovely Mountain's Edge park, which is so convenient. Her coaches are the adorable Sara Wixom and Cheryl Johnson. The team is called Kickin' It. Love it. Jolee had fun doing the drills and I was so impressed with her dribbling skills already. Watch out Mia Hamm!

Happy 4th Birthday Jolee!

I can't believe that my first born is 4 years old now! She is getting so big. A couple days before her birthday I was getting her dressed, and the dress was a little bit shorter than usual. I told her this and she responded, "My skin must already think I'm 4!" What a cute kid. My little girl got a princess bike as was so stoked. We celebrated with a family party at Chuck E. Cheese. When we were driving home that night she said, "This is my best birthday." I am glad she had a good time. Taylor had a blast with the skee ball. She would just scream when she tossed the ball. It was so funny.

Cactus Cup

This year Mountain's Edge hosted the Cactus Cup. The Cactus Cup is the nation's largest mountain biking event. So imagine my hubby's excitement when he found out it was within walking distance of our house. Rob had fun volunteering with the Mountain's Edge team and the kids and I had fun taking in all there was to offer. Here are some pictures of my girls with their daddy. Notice the Mountain's Edge team hats and REI stickers galore!

First Hair Cut

So I had finally had enough of Michael's Donald Trump inspired comb over and cut his hair off. So while he was in his bumbo chair after dinner(by the way the pink chair was a hand me down, I hope I am not giving him a complex) I busted out the clippers and gave him a number 1 fade. Look at my grown up guy! My dad said that he looks like a gangster, like he should be wearing a wife beater and driving a lowrider! But I think he looks down right adorable. He looks so big, like he is ready to start kindergarten or something. I have included a before and after picture. Don't mind the sweet potatoes on his face, like I said it was right after dinner.

Holy Teeth!

That is one teething baby! Can you believe my 4 month old is already teething? I couldn't figure out why my otherwise even tempered child has been on so cranky lately. The mystery was solved the other night when I spotted the little tooth nugget trying to work its way out. My poor guy. That has got to hurt! It's time to bust out the teething tablets and baby orajel once more.

If the shoe fits...

Not too much to say about this picture. I just felt bad for my little Tay Tay. Nothing too exciting going on the her little 2 year old world. Here is a cute picture of her wearing my running shoes. She loves shoes. My little shoe horse. Beware, if you come to my home, chances are Taylor is going to try on your shoes. She is going to be an expensive teenager!

Jolee's first day of preschool

My little girl is getting so big. Jolee started her first day of preschool on Tuesday and was so excited. When I asked her what she was going to do in class, she said, "Paint, Paint, and Paint." I am so weird about messes that is one craft project I rarely let my girls do. So she was excited about the painting potential of preschool! She is going to a class here in Mountain's Edge. A girl from our ward is teaching it in her home. She is very well qualified and taught elementary school for many years. It is a good match for us. I just can't believe she is going to kindergarten next year. Where does the time go? But for now, I am just enjoying my 6 hours a week with just 2 children. Who would have thought that 2 kids would feel like a walk in the park.

My Little Monster

My little Michael is getting so big. I took him to the pediatrician last week for his 4 month check up and he weighs 17 pounds. This is the same guy who weighed 6 pounds a birth. People look at me like, "Are you feeding this kid butter?" when I tell them his age. I am not complaining though, I love me some thick thighs. It means they are healthy, right? I would take a little chunker any day of the week over a skinny baby. The only thing that is suffering is my biceps from that darn car seat. Those things are such a pain. I might have to put him in a booster seat next week if this continues. Anyway Michael is so much fun. He is always giggling and loves to kiss his mommy. Here is a picture of him in his Beatles gear, what a hip kid!

Legoland

Legoland was so much fun. We were a little concerned when we arrived and the place was packed and we felt like we were sweating to death in the humidity. But we duked it out and ended up having a great day! Rob got SOAKED (accidentally) in the water play area and then after finally drying off our little Tay Tay had an "Uh Oh" on Daddy's lap. My poor husband. Jolee went on a big kid roller coaster, I was so proud. We can't wait to go back again.

RV Fun

We just got back from a week in Julian, California. Julian is such a cute little mining town outside of San Diego. We were camping out in an RV with my in-laws. It was such a good time. I'm not a huge fan of the traditional camping, but I am loving the camping feel with access to a hot shower, electricity, and a nice bed. I have been sold on RVing! :) Here are some pictures of us hanging out in our 23 footer!

Fun at the Movies

Wow! That is the first time I can say that! We actually had a great time at the movies, all 5 of us! No getting up and wondering around, no potty breaks, and children actually paying attention! It was wonderful! Rob and I took the kids to see Wall-E yesterday and it was really fun. Michael even got into the movie. At one point I was trying to feed him a bottle and his little eyes kept looking at the movie screen, it was so cute. We are looking forward to seeing more movies as a family now.

Pregnant my whole marriage?

Yes it is true! Rob and I were talking last night about my 3 pregnancies and how they have nicely equaled out over the span of our marriage. 2004: I was pregnant with Jolee. 2005 and the beginning of 2006: Knocked up with Taylor. And then 2007 and 2008 I had little Mikey in me! Crazy! Hopefully 2009 will bring around happiness, fun, and no preggers! A special thanks goes out to my talented friend Jamie for the picture!
