Seriouslly???

It is 6:30 am and Jolee, Taylor and I are on our third Disney movie. They were so sick with fevers and coughing, I just got them up at 3:00 am. Taylor was waking every hour on the hour, so it wasn't like I was sleeping well anyway. So far we have watched Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, and now we are on 101 Dalmations. This is going to be a LONG day! Darn you RSV! Darn you to heck!

"Your Mom Goes to College"

I started the spring semester yesterday. Philosophy 102 and Teaching Elementary School Math. Maybe sometime in this life, I will graduate. I met with my counselor who said that because I have been going to school on and off for 8 years now, I will be able to graduate CSN in the fall with an Associates of General Studies and an Associates of Arts with an emphasis on Elementary Education. That will be good in the long run because you get paid more when you have your Bachelor's Degree, plus however many credits. I am taking my time because I don't plan on teaching until Mikey is in school. Oh by the way...just to get the word out there...I am going to be teaching preschool out of my home this fall. It will be 2 days a week for 2 hours. $100 a month. I am thinking that it is going to be an afternoon class. E-mail me at adrihutch@hotmail.com or call me if you are interested.

Red Rock Fun

This Martin Luther King Day, we headed up to Red Rock for some outdoor fun. It is weird that I put those two words together, I am very much an indoor girl. But we had a good day. We found a trail up by Calico Basin that is like a boardwalk. You don't even have to get off the wooded trail, perfect for little girls, strollers, and indoor mommies. We were going to have a picnic at the bottom, but there were people doing beer bongs! Seriouslly...at noon! Taylor was upset that we were leaving until Jolee said, "We have to go because those people are being naughty." Word sister! We drove around until we found a more family friendly environment to picnic in. Later that evening, a brought back one of my mom's Martin Luther King Day traditions. I made a marble cake. My mom said it was the blacks and the whites combining. Gosh...I miss my mom. She was awesome!

Happy 3rd Birthday Taylor

Taylor celebrated her 3rd Birthday on January 11th. I can't believe my little girl is growing up so quickly! To celebrate her birthday, we had a small princess party the day before. It was a girls only thing. Jolee even told Rob and my dad that they couldn't come. It was fun having it with just the girls. The little girls wore princess dresses, ate corndogs and cupcakes, and had their nails painted. Taylor loved having all the attention on her. That night we went to In N Out for dinner. It was special for me because it was the last meal I ate before I delivered her and the first meal I ate after I had her. What can I say? I love me some In N Out. Happy Birthday Taylor! You are such a funny, sweet, cuddly, and beautiful little girl!

1:00 Church

1:00 church. No naps. Fast Sunday. This is going to be a long year!

Tonka Trucks

How excited does Mikey look? This was his reaction when we sat him on his new Tonka Truck for the first time. Pure joy! I love having a boy and getting to buy things like trucks and trains. I was beginning to get a little burnt out on princesses and ponies.

Happy New Year!

We had a very mellow New Year's Eve. We hung out here and had Chinese food ("get it, Chinese New Year?") I thought I was clever! :) We made party hats out of construction paper and bendy straws and then at 8:00 pm, we marched outside and screamed Happy New Year and banged our drums and the kids thought it was a blast. Then we came inside, had some cider and then tucked the kiddies into bed. Rob and I then played Wii and Uno , ate ice cream, and watched the craziness on the strip on T.V. It was a struggle for us to stay up that late, but we did it. We were asleep by 12:15 though, completely out. I made the kids 2009 french toast this morning. The picture is kind of hard to see, but I made the numbers out of powdered sugar. Texas toast french toast is an awesome way to start off a New Year, if you ask me.

Christmas Night

On Christmas night, we all headed over to Red Rock for some bowling. It was a tradition we started last year. I wasn't completely sold on the idea, somehow it felt like breaking the Sabbath to me. But I didn't want to be the Debbie Downer of the group, so I tagged along. Rob and I came in first and second and I completely credit that to our Wii! Jolee had a fun rolling the balls and Taylor had fun with her Aunt Shawna. Michael just chilled in his stroller and played with some of his new little toys.

Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas! It was a great Christmas at the Hutchinson house this year. Michael got blocks, tonka trucks, a walker, and so much more. The first grandson got SPOILED this year. Taylor's big gift was a My Little Pony Castle and Jolee's was a big girl scooter. They had so much, I was tempted to stash some away for upcoming birthdays. But I guess my girls are getting to big for that trick. Rob got me a beautiful necklace with my kids names on it and a digital frame with a ton of pictures of my mom in it. He is the most thoughtful husband. I love him dearly. He also got me a lot of little things, a favorite being Britney Spears new CD. My girls are constantly singing, "You, You, You Are!" It's great! Rob got some bike parts, church stuff, and an IPOD dock thing. It was a very special Christmas. These are pictures of Taylor making sure Santa ate his cookies as well as Mikey opening a present.

Knock at the door

We were enjoying Christmas Eve festivities at my dad's house, when there was a knock at the door. It was Santa!!!! The girls were so excited. He said, "I parked my reindeer around the corner and wanted to come say Merry Christmas." Jolee darts to the window to try to catch a glimpse of her beloved Rudolph. Taylor had a constant giggle the whole time Santa was there, it was precious. The kids were excited to get pajamas from Santa and even more excited for Christmas the next morning.

Sledding on Christmas Eve

We decided that we needed another snow fix, so we headed up to Mount Charleston for some sledding during the day on Christmas Eve with my dad and sister Jacey. I am so happy to be able to continue this tradition with my kids, my family has been doing this since I was 6. There was so much snow and it was freezing, so I volunteered to stay in the tahoe. I was happy just to see snow, watch the kids play, and enjoy my donuts and hot chocolate.
