Black Friday

Yes! Rob and I braved the crowds once again this year to shop on Black Friday. We got home from California late and finally crawled into bed at 11:00 pm. It felt like we only took a long nap, because the alarm went off at 3:00 am. Our babysitter was over at our house at 3:30 am, and we were out the door in time to make it to Kohl's before they opened at 4:00 am. I got so many good deals, like toys 50% off and a 28 inch flat screen LCD tv for our master bedroom for $299, we also got guitar hero for our new wii for $50. I think that is well worth getting out of bed early for. Rob and I finished up our Christmas shopping and I was even interviewed on the news. I probably should have said no, considering I didn't sleep the night before, had a baseball hat and no make up on. But its all part of the fun. Black Friday officially brings in the Christmas season. Merry Christmas!

Christmas card picture

I am thinking that this is the picture I will use for Christmas cards this year. Once again, Shawna took a pretty good picture. This is out in front on my aunt and uncle's house in Orange County on Thanksgiving day. We sneaked out while dinner was being prepared. We had a great day and a wonderful meal. I got to spend time with my cousins, their spouses, and children (which I learned are called my "first cousin, once removed"). We made Christmas ornaments and ate until we were stuffed. I found out that I have a lot in common with my cousin Brad's wife Nadia. We both have an infatuation with Bear Grylls, celebrity gossip, and ballet flats. Thanks for the shoes, by the way! :) The only thing that wasn't too fun was driving back to Vegas that night, but we had to be home for our Black Friday deals.

Surprise...We are going to Disneyland!

So we were invited to Thanksgiving down at my aunt and uncle's home in Mission Veijo, CA this year. We decided that since we were down there, we would make a trip over to Disneyland. We were excited to see my mom's marker in front of the park (see picture). We were also excited to ambush the kids with Disneyland. We woke up really early on Wednesday morning and drove straight there. We told the girls we were just going to Papa Jim's (my uncle Jim) house for Thanksgiving. We didn't tell the girls where we were until Jolee saw the Materhorn out her window. She said, "What's that?" I pratically screamed, "It's Disneyland and we are going there right now!!!" The girls started screaming, it was so cute. Disneyland was fun, but stupid crowded. I only gotta to go on 5 rides. I saw my good friend Taylor Kowalis there as well as some other families from our ward. Mikey even had a good time, when we met Mickey Mouse, he tried to chew on Mickey Mouse's nose, gotta love teething children.

Lovin' us some Edward Cullen!

So I saw Twilight on Friday night and was pleasantly surprised. I thought there was some cheesey moments, but for the most part it was good. We could have dealt without the 13 year old girls screaming when Edward and Bella kissed, but what can you do? The girls that went to the movie were (left to right) Melissa, Kelly, Brandy, Me, Aimee, Laura and Taylor. We also had a couple friends meet us at the theater, where we cut in line with them and were threatened to by a "kick" ("let's just kick them") from some tweens! Haha! Good times! Oh and yes, by the way, that is my Christmas tree in the background! :)

Christmas in November

Yes!! My house is ready to go! I put my tree and decorations up yesterday and my village and garland today. That darn Polar Express got my amped for Christmas a few weeks to prematurely. Oh well! I love Christmas, why not make it last a little bit longer. Jolee was so funny one the way home from the Polar Express in Arizona, she said, "So is Christmas done now?" You don't even know what you are in for little girl! Happy Early Merry Christmas from the Hutch House.

Days after Halloween...

Yes, that's right, days after Halloween we headed down to Williams, AZ to ride the Polar Express. You remember the children's book where the kid goes to the North Pole. Yeah, there is a real one and it fantastic! It was so much fun and instantly put me into the holiday spirit. It was freezy down there (17 degrees at night) and Christmas decorations galore. We got aboard the Polar Express on Saturday night in all our pajamed glory, I told Rob they wouldn't let him on if he wasn't full clad. Anyway they give you hot chocolate and cookies and read the story while you ride to the North Pole. You look at your window and see Santa on his sleigh at the "North Pole." He gets on and gave all the kids a silver bell, once again from the book. The girls loved. Jolee was screaming like Santa was Zac Efron and Taylor just looked up and said, "Hi Ho Ho!" Mikey didn't know what was going on but was happy to be in comfy jammies. I hope to make the Polar Express a family tradition. It was so much fun.

Happy Halloween

OK! I know I am a day late and a buck short, but its better now than never. I have been slacking with the blogging, sorry. Anyway...Happy Halloween! We had a great Halloween this year. Jolee broke the princess mold and was a kitty cat, Taylor was "Snow Wipe" (you get the idea) and my little peanut Mikey was a pumpkin. It was so fun. Taylor finally understood the concept of trick or treating and had a blast. I dressed up as a witch for our ward's trunk or treat. I had little Mikey in the baby bjorn and he was a "Son of a Witch". Definitely mixed reactions from that, but I thought it was funny. My girls weren't huge fans of mommy in a wig. When I came downstairs, Taylor said, "What is your name? Are you a Ah Ha Ha Ha? (evil laugh)" Gotta love kids. Anyway...Happy Belated Halloween!
